Formation of Al Othaim Markets
Established as a public joint-stock company in wholesale and retail foodstuff trade. Today it ranks among the top 100 companies in the Middle East — over 400 branches across Saudi Arabia and Egypt and more than 16,500 employees.
1990
Expansion and Transformation
Branches expanded to 14 and a wholesale consumer system was introduced — a strategic shift in operating model that paved the way for the next phase of growth.
1992
Introduction of Company Warehouses
Strategic build-out of logistics capability — supporting better service to customers and the demands of a rapidly evolving market landscape.
2005
Formation of Al Othaim Holding Company
A new chapter — Al Othaim Holding became the parent entity overseeing a diverse portfolio of subsidiaries across economic and investment sectors, including Abdullah Al Othaim Markets and Abdullah Al Othaim Investment Company.

Operates across real estate, entertainment, hospitality, fashion, and food & beverages — 12+ shopping complexes, 70+ entertainment centers across the GCC and Egypt, 14 fashion brands across 70+ stores, exclusive rights to 9 F&B brands across 40+ stores, two cinema brands across five locations in Saudi Arabia, and 23+ integrated mixed-use projects currently in development.
